My gallery isn't working properly. But it's not just me. Read this so you don't kill yourselves:

The database servers are designed to distribute information evenly between and amongst themselves.
But the code that tells them to do that was never intended to handle the volume of traffic this site gets, and the amount of information that needs to be shared.
So some servers are behind the others when it comes to displaying things correctly, and depending on which database server you happen to be connected to at the time, the information you see on your screen will be entirely different, and at time up to an hour or more behind the rest. Forum threads will open and close, be posted and vanish, or just be an hour behind on showing posts - submissions will seem to post fine and be "gone" ten seconds later, or you'll get sent back to the submission page again but then see it in your gallery, or you'll be convinced you've been yanked for a policy violation 30 second after submitting - account settings will update, revert, then update again, journals will be added and then disappear and then come back, your icon might switch back and forth between old and new for up to an hour - new users may log in only to find they don't exist yet - "invalid" notes may appear in your inbox - you may have 65 comments appear from nowhere, and then vanish just as quickly - comments that you've never received will show up and leave, favorites that no one ever gave you will rack up and then disappear...and it all depends on which database server you're connected to at the time.
The best thing to do is just calm down and wait. Don't push refresh a dozen times because it won't help anything, and it will actually make things worse. Don't post forum topics asking what's going on, because by the time you can see the answers, you'll have four or five all saying the same thing. If you do make a forum post, don't immediately repost if you don't see it listed - give the servers at least fifteen minutes to update each other.
Most of all, remember that it's not just you. This is happening to all of us right now. But Dave will be here very very soon, and he'll fix it all.
